Counseling with Rebekah

Rebekah is a professionally licensed counselor and advocate who is dedicated to helping individuals grow, find restoration, and healing in the therapy process. She specializes in serving men, women, and young adults struggling with trauma/post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, and grief and loss. She understands seeking care can be challenging and aspires to offer a safe, trusting environment where individuals feel comfortable sharing difficult life events and emotions. With a client centered approach to care, Rebekah is dedicated to understanding what is important to the individual and how they feel it is affecting the various areas of their life. Rebekah focuses on the strengths of an individual as a building block to facilitate change and develops personal awareness for individuals to gain insight into their needs as well as skills to feel safe and reduce anxiety/stress. She also uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques to help individuals recognize negative thought patterns that influence their choices, communication, and relationships. With over eleven years of broad-based experience in providing therapy, skill development, and crisis management, Rebekah has cared for individuals in various walks of life in both in-patient hospitalization and community based settings.

Through her professional experience to date, Rebekah recognizes that traditional therapy offers the ability to identify and better manage an individual’s mental health or substance use concerns. However, the process often stops short of providing the solace and peace individuals seek when entering into therapy. She believes her role as a counselor isn’t just teaching others how to manage symptoms but to offer an opportunity to explore their true identity and value as a whole person. Through her own personal faith walk, Rebekah realizes the importance of providing an opportunity where spiritual conversations can be integrated into care. She believes true restoration and healing comes from recognizing who God has called you to be and walking in personal relationship with Him.

Rebekah is passionate about advocating for others and has worked with law enforcement, social workers, health care administrators, and education providers to teach and collaborate on how to best serve the needs of the entire person. In bringing awareness to the field of mental health, she strives to reduce the stigma associated with seeking mental health care and the isolation individuals sometimes feel in navigating life’s journey. She has additional trainings in trauma/substance use, military culture, and veteran mental health to assist in providing a trauma informed approach to services and compassionate care. Rebekah earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Emory University and a Master’s of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University.
