Grace Heus - Master’s Level Therapist

Grace Heus

M.Ed., APC
Associate Professional Counselor

Grace specializes in helping adults, children, and adolescents navigate anxiety, emotional
overwhelm, intrusive thoughts, chronic overthinking, perfectionism, self-doubt, and life or
relationship challenges. She supports adults in breaking the patterns that keep them feeling stuck,
overwhelmed, or driven by pressure, while helping children and teens build confidence,
resilience, emotional regulation, and healthy coping skills.
Grace specifically supports individuals experiencing high-functioning anxiety who appear
successful on the outside but feel overwhelmed within, constantly “on,” and driven by pressure
to perform. Whether you’ve been struggling with nervous system dysregulation, unhealthy
thought or relationship patterns, anxiety, or feeling caught in cycles of reactivity and overwhelm,
Grace helps you understand why those cycles exist – and how to break free from them.
Rather than asking, “What’s wrong with me?” clients begin asking, “What happened that taught
my mind and body to respond this way?”

Working With Grace

Grace takes a holistic approach to counseling, recognizing that our thoughts, emotions, nervous
system, physical health, relationships, environment, faith, and life experiences all interact to
shape how we experience the world. She helps clients strengthen the connection between mind
and body so they can regulate their nervous system, move out of survival mode, and experience
greater clarity, calm, confidence, and peace in everyday life.
When working with children and adolescents, Grace partners closely with parents to understand
each child’s unique strengths and challenges while helping young clients develop emotional
awareness, healthy coping strategies, resilience, and confidence that extends into school,
relationships, sports, and everyday life.
Her work is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral
Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), mindfulness practices, as well as
existential and humanistic approaches. Grace also incorporates a family systems-informed
perspective that recognizes how relationships, family dynamics, environments, and life
experiences shape emotional and behavioral patterns.
Grace helps clients change their relationship with difficult thoughts and emotions rather than
becoming controlled by them. Through this approach, clients develop practical skills to respond
with greater awareness, flexibility, and intention while gaining a deeper understanding of the
underlying factors contributing to their struggles.
For clients who desire it, Grace thoughtfully integrates faith-based Christian counseling with
evidence-based clinical care in a way that honors each client’s values, goals, and lived
experience. She incorporates biblical truth into the healing process to support restoration, hope,
and wholeness of mind, body, and spirit.
