Master’s Level Therapist
Grace Heus, M.Edis a master’s-level counselor who works from a process-oriented, stabilization-focused approach, helping clients feel more steady and grounded even when things feel overwhelming or unpredictable in their lives. Her goal is to create a warm, supportive space where you feel seen, valued, and understood, because she believes transformation begins with a safe and genuine connection. Grace’s work is informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral
Therapy (CBT), as well as existential & humanistic theory lenses. She places an
emphasis on present-moment awareness, emotional processing, and recognizing the
therapeutic relationship as a source of safety, consistency, and support.
Grace approaches therapy with a systems-informed lens, understanding individuals
within the context of their relationships, environments, and life transitions. She often
works with clients who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or navigating meaningful change,
including individuals, couples, families, and those connected to military and veteran
communities. Grace strives to create a warm, predictable space where clients feel seen, valued, and supported as they build emotional stability, clarity, and a stronger sense of self. For Grace, therapy is not about quick fixes or being “fixed,” but about walking alongside clients as they make sense of their experiences and develop ways of living that feel more grounded and meaningful. As a Christian counselor, Grace also offers faith-integrated care for those who wish to bring their spiritual beliefs into the counseling process, blending clinical insight with spiritual understanding to support your journey toward emotional and relational well-being Grace is a graduate student at the College of William & Mary pursuing her Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling with a specialty to serve military and veteran clients. She also holds a bachelors of science in Psychology from Kennesaw State University. Grace believes that as a counselor, the journey of learning never ends. True growth comes not just from formal education, but from ongoing study, reflection, and staying attuned to emerging insights and approaches. Grace is committed to continually deepening her understanding so she can serve her clients with wisdom, compassion, and the most effective tools available.
